Though our volunteering and work with Rotary has begun in Florida, our travel year began in Evan’s home state, Virginia.

We spent a month in Virginia getting to visit with family and friends. Some major events from our month included:

1. Surprising Evan’s family with our visit and Evan reuniting with his dogs

2. Getting to spend time with my childhood best friend/sister, AnneMarie Woods (who Evan and I met through) and her family.

3. Getting to work photography jobs with Fusion Foto Studios and Jamie Young Photography in Virginia and North Carolina

4. Lots of time on the beach and in the ocean

5. Evan stepping on a bee at the beach and discovering he’s allergic

6. Visiting Evan’s best friend Anastasia in Richmond, his college town

7. Attending Richmond Pride and a fantastic drag show

8. Eating at our favorite Virginia restaurant’s Ramen Spot (Richmond, VA), The Yard (Virginia Beach) and Sakura (Virginia Beach)

9. A busy day attending Norfolk’s Mac and Cheese Festival and The Neptune Festival Sand Sculpture Contest

10. Lots of chill time spent relaxing with and visiting Evan’s family
