Turkey Day

After years of Evan rambling to me about the cultural importance of the spot on your Thanksgiving plate where the candied yams meet the mac and cheese, I can say he’s right. Everything we ate on Thanksgiving day was absolutely delicious.

Everyone made whatever they wanted and the resulting feast had everything from charcuterie to empanadas, seafood pasta to roasted lamb, and sweet potato pie to rum cake. A blended feast for a blended up family that I am so grateful to be welcomed into. Besides cooking and eating, Thursday and Friday were spent hanging out, playing tons of games including VR games and trivia, and chasing all the family dogs down for pets.

On Saturday, everyone said goodbye and Evan’s uncle generously drove us up to Baltimore where we’re staying in an AirBnB until we receive confirmation from the Rotarians we’ve been in contact with (fingers crossed we’ll find the right fit soon!)

Sunday we walked around a bit in the rainy city and caught up on work we’d been avoiding over the holidays. The next few days will be spent contacting more Rotarians and continuing to visit different Rotary clubs.
