Today marks the first day we thought we’d be back in Colorado. Though travel plans have gone a little wonky, I’m grateful for every moment we’ve spent here. All of these unexpected extra days have been so full of good.
On Thursday, we attended the Christmas party for my old Rotary Club, Loveland Thompson Valley. Reconnecting with my old Rotary family, people who’ve seen me through a lot of my Rotary ventures, has been particularly special and getting to spend a meeting just laughing and enjoying the company was a blast.
Friday we spent the day with my brother, doing a Scheels scavenger hunt then driving to Cheyenne, Wyoming to get to see his girlfriend’s Speech and Debate meet. We actually got to watch her perform this time and it was fantastic to see her beautiful piece pay off with a second place placement.
We spent Saturday with the Fort Collins Rotary Club, volunteering at the Food Bank for Larimer County. We spent our time sorting fruits and vegetables, taking out what was rotten to assure the clients received the best produce possible.
Today, we had brunch with my family then spent the afternoon on one of my favorite holiday traditions, making all our Christmas cookies and candies. This evening we are out and about on an aimless adventure with some close friends.
