Ups and Downs

The last few days have somehow been both not very busy but exhausting. As we plan our February return to Florida we’ve been making phone calls, sending emails and texts, and doing lots of pricing research to prepare.

The highlight of my last few days has definitely been my training for Miami RYLA where I’ll be attending as a Senior Counselor (SC) or Junior Counselor (JC) float as well as giving a speech on different Rotary affiliated programs. I’m excited for this opportunity not only because it’s RYLA but because I will be surrounded by several people I began my own RYLA journey with. This week I also made my first attempt at making pretzels. It’s a few days late but it was Kai’s request to celebrate becoming a JC.

The lowlight of the week was Saturday afternoon when Evan caught a stomach bug. Today was spent at home convincing him to get some rest and making him tea. He’s feeling a lot better now so we’re hoping to visit a Rotary Club tomorrow evening.

As we navigate the ups and downs, I’m grateful to be surrounded by family as we prepare for the next leg of this adventure.
