Monday was the final day of emails and calls and paperwork. Here’s to hoping I have everything prepared both for our next leg of the adventure and for things being left undone in Colorado.
Tuesday was full of goodbyes from brunch with my cousin and grandma to a dinner with my parents and Kai to a late night quick visit with Ang. It’s sad to leave again but I couldn’t be more excited for Miami RYLA and the next leg of our adventure. In between all the goodbyes several loads of laundry needed done and, of course, I had yet to pack at all.
Wednesday morning, Kai, Evan, and I headed for the airport earlier than necessary because I’m paranoid. It was weird saying goodbye to Evan at the airport again. Though we started in a long distance relationship, in the last year there’s only been two days we didn’t see each other. After some sappy goodbyes, I slept through nearly all of the flight, mostly in an effort to make sure I didn’t get too antsy. After arriving Rolo, a mentor met through Colorado RYLA, picked me up and took me on a walking adventure of downtown Miami. I also enjoyed dinner with him and his wife as we wait for Kate, another RYLA staff member, to arrive. On the other side of the country, Evan spent several hours on a Lego project gift from my mom.
Tomorrow morning, Rolo, Kate, and I will be headed to the RYLA site with the rest of the staff to set up and prepare for the arrival of conferees Friday afternoon.
