Bye Bye VB

On Thursday, we finalized everything for the studio opening the next day, helping running the final errands and do the final clean up. I also ha another check -in with Kai and Boulder Rotary’s Bill Rubin as we prepare for Kai’s presentation about RYLA on Wednesday. I’m always impressed by my brother but to see him preparing for a public speaking gig on our shared passion warms my heart in a very specific way.

Friday was Mrs. Young’s birthday and the christening and blessing of the Jamie Young Photo Studio location. It was a beautiful event shared with family and many of her close friends, some of whom have become our friends too, especially in the last year.

After a long celebratory night, we spent most of Saturday sleeping in or crashed on the couch, watching movies and playing video games, and ending the night with a seafood dinner with Evan’s family.

Our last day in Virginia Beach has been all over the place. A morning that started with half-sleeping in as we waited to sort out plans for the day led to a busy afternoon. We went from afternoon tea at a fancy little tea shop with Mrs. Young to a chaotic adventure hang out with AnneMarie. Now we’re just looking at the clock and I am rushing through this synopsis while Evan packs our bags for our five hour drive to Blacksburg, Virginia tomorrow.
