Thursday was Star Wars Day so our day began with finally watching up on The Mandalorian. Later in the day, we had the opportunity to attend Newsies Jr. at Bill Reed Middle School. It was directed by a former theater director of Kai and I’s who focused doing Newsies on the impact of children uses their voices. Seeing her young cast perform was a great reminder of the importance theater and the arts had in my life and the impact it can have on youth. At the end of the night we had dinner with Ang and helped her clean her house as we prepared for her birthday weekend.
On Friday we spent much of our day cooking truffles and brownies for Angella’s birthday celebration that night. Then we headed to the final day of Kai’s conference track meet. We ended the day playing board games and eating dessert with Angella and Chris.
Saturday I spent my morning reviewing scholarship applications for the Heroes Among Us Scholarship sponsored by my Rotary Club. It was inspiring to know the youth of our district have so many important figures in their life and how many wonderful impactful stories there are. Later that night we went out to Korean BBQ and out to a bar in Denver for more celebrations of Ang’s birthday weekend.
This morning we went to Sunday brunch and then caught up on sleep after being out until nearly 3am with Ang the night before. We also finally got to meet our friends new snake and gecko and spent much of our evening playing card games at their house.
