Planning Ahead in the Midst of Chaos

Though Monday was quiet and only really included coordinating the musicians for the winery, the next couple days where much more hectic.

On Tuesday, my dad surprised us all with a recliner, bookshelf, and nightstand he’d been gifted. What we thought would be a few minute errand when we were contacted turned into a multi-hour adventure. We managed them into the truck and up the stairs though the house hasn’t been rearranged for them quite yet. Since we were already out we took a trip to one of my favorite store, Cheese Importers. We bought a bunch of fun cheese and crackers to make charcuterie snacks for days. After all that, we headed to Kai’s Senior track banquet to watch him letter for his final season.

Wednesday we headed back up visit some of our Boys and Girls Club kids that we didn’t get to see the last time. We spent several hours in Estes and got a few more hugs and stories from kids who want to tell us everything. My favorite quote of the day was “Oh nooooo I had a ladybug on my arm and I just flushed it for real, a real one!” Eventually we made it back down the mountain and Ang joined us for dinner this evening so my family could show her “Knight’s Tale” one of our favorite family movies.

In the midst of all the happenings, we also are getting ready for a very busy next few days/weeks with more of Kai’s Senior events, a lot of RYLA, and hopefully some unique opportunities for volunteering.

Through the chaos, the absolute highlight of my week though has been sending emails, texts, and making calls to confirm what will hopefully be our next two out of state trips. I’m very excited and very hopefully, I’m keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that these opportunities work out and we’ll be traveling again soon.
