Staying Busy in Colorado

To round out the celebration of Kai’s graduation, my family took a staycation to Denver. We started Monday with one of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried, “The Bagel Deli and Restaurant” an incredible family-owned Jewish deli, diner, and bagel shop featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.” Everything was so insanely delicious. I highly recommend it to everyone. Afterwards, we went to the Disney Immersive Experience, a beautiful show of lights, colors, movies, and music. We took a quick rest at the mall before also heading to run around the Denver Zoo for a few hours. We ended the day with a family dinner with our grandparents to eat leftover food from the party the day before.

On Tuesday, Kai and I helped Gunner, one of our Head Junior Counselors for RYLA, clean, organize, and inventory the RYLA storage unit. We spent a few hours testing markers, checking the air in basketballs, searching for where a pair of pliers would be stored, and more. The three of us went out to lunch afterwards and got to spend some time hanging out. RYLA is getting more and more real every day and I’m so insanely excited.

Wednesday was more RYLA news as Kai and I found out the Junior/Senior Counselor we each would be paired with this year. We’re both eager to get to know our partner in the coming weeks.

Throughout the last two days Evan and I have both spent time working on the winery and trying to get our lives organized for our last few trips before we settle down again in August.
