I missed my usual post last night because story time waits for no one but my overall update is pretty small for now anyway as my life has reformated.

Monday was a pretty quiet day at home watching movies with Rock. We ended the day with a visit to Ang then Evan and I did some volunteering from home helping my dad look over some menus and review some paperwork for the retirement home.

The next day we went and checked up on my Grandparent’s house grabbing the mail and watering their plants while they’re out of town. Afterwards we got to take Rock to a park nearby. I don’t think I’ve ever met any child more obsessed with swings and he gives even me a run for my money on riding spinny playground equipment.

Yesterday I got to reconnect with Alek, my JC, in our first meeting post-RYLA. We reflected on our experience, his thoughts and feedback, and celebrated a really successful camp overall. We also got to catch up on how life is going and talk about upcoming excitements. I’m so insanely proud of him for the work he’s preparing to do in school and life and I’m so grateful to get a unique view on his journey.

Today we’re getting ready for some painting time after lunch with a park cleanup and a museum visit also on the schedule for this week. If anyone has any other ideas for volunteering with kids, definitely pass them on!!
