It’s our 2nd to last blog post (other pictures and things pending, keep an eye out)!
October 20th marks one year since we started this blog and documenting the journey we’ve been on. It’s crazy to think about how much has happened and how much has changed. I am so ridiculously thankful for all the opportunities we’ve had and people we’ve met and for everything that this journey continues bringing into our lives.
The last couple days have stayed a little hectic but nothing near the stress of the ones preceding it. Did we lose our can opener since we had to box stuff up with exterminators coming? Yes. Did I manage to open a can of corn with a screw driver and not cut myself? Also yes. And somehow that becomes a really good, if a little unhinged, metaphor for our week and our year. Unexpected circumstances require innovative tools and caution but can yield delightful results.
Aside from losing our can opener, I’ve prepped yet another recommendation letter for a RYLA attendee, almost finished my Master’s degree application after a very productive coffee shop day, and tonight Evan and I got to attend a social to meet others volunteers for a conference we’re helping at this weekend.
One of the things I’m most excited about lately is seeing how service will manifest in our lives going forward and I’m grateful for all the chances I see coming our way.
