Though there wasn’t service done in the last few days, we definitely got to have some fun and unique experiences. Some of my highlights (in no particular order) from the last few days include:
1. I got to see one of my favorite poets perform live by complete happenstance. We went to Casper, Wyoming so my brother, Kai, could attend his girlfriend’s Speech and Debate Tournament. We went to the awards ceremony to show support and I had no idea the mainstage speaker would be Neil Hilborn. I thought the announcer was joking. I definitely cried. Also Evan got me both of his books autographed as an early Christmas gift.
2. There’s not much to do in Casper, Wyoming but Bourgeois Pig (a pig themed coffee shop and event space), Little Shop of Burgers (a horror burger joint) and Toy Town (gigantic toy shop) are surprisingly cool local venues.
3. My cousin is looking for a cat so he, Evan and I, Kai, and my friend Angella all went to the NoCo Cat Cafe in downtown Loveland. We hung out for several hours playing with different cats and I drank several cups of catnip tea. I highly recommend checking this place out!
4. My Dad was in town from his work trip so it was movie night in with Evan and my immediate family. Slumberland is pretty cute.
5. Evan took senior photos for Angella’s cousin in one of his first professional photo gigs. He took them at Bizarre Bazaar in Fort Collins and the records and books made an adorable background. I love seeing him do what he’s passionate about.
