Having Some Fun While Trying To Do Real Adult Things

It’s been a busy week but as we come up on nearly a year on the road, so many pieces are falling into place for us to settle back down.

On Thursday, at insane hours of the morning, we sent Rock back home. Afterwards we spent the day in Denver with Kai doing lunch, figuring out distances between potential apartments and potential work places, and Evan had a job interview. Pending some final paperwork, he now has a new job for this season while he continues to seek a career job. Later that night, I went and had a sleepover with Gav, a close friend who I met at RYLA originally, for their birthday. We enjoyed a movie we both love, played a card game, and the the next morning we celebrated with leftover birthday cake and fall themed coffee.

Friday, after wrapping up with Gav, I went home and had a reading date with Evan. While Rock was here, we got a library card that we are both enjoying immensely.

Saturday we headed to Colorado Springs for Kai’s first college cross country meet. He was the youngest running for his school and  ran his first ever 8k race in under 30 minutes. Afterwards, my family explored Colorado Springs enjoying lunch at Bingo Burger and exploring an oddities shop called Cronk. We also loved the Olympic and Paralympic Museum (definitely a recommendation if you’re in Colorado Springs.)

Today we had family brunch, I got officially confirmed for two exciting job interviews Tuesday, and we went to see Gav in Denver. Since other friends couldn’t do stuff on the day like I could, we enjoyed an indoor picnic and watched several music videos in preparation for concerts different members of the group are attending soon.

We’re ending the week with jobs or hopeful ones, with a promising new apartment application being submitted, and with excitement for sleeping in tomorrow.
